Frequently Asked Questions
Who can benefit from Arts Therapy?
Arts Therapy utilises artmaking alongside talk therapy and is beneficial for people of all ages and backgrounds. It can support individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or life transitions. It is also helpful for those looking to improve self-expression, build emotional resilience, and enhance overall well-being.
Do I need to be good at art to benefit from Arts Therapy?
No artistic skills are required to benefit from sessions— Arts Therapy is about the creative process, not the final product. So, whether you are seeking personal growth, healing, or a safe space for self-exploration, Arts Therapy can be a valuable and supportive experience.
How many sessions do I need?
The number of sessions differs for everyone, and will depend on your unique needs and goals. Some benefit from a few sessions for short-term support, while others engage in ongoing therapy for deeper exploration and healing. During our first session, we can discuss your intentions and create a plan that best suits you, or you might like to just try one and see what it’s like. Arts Therapy is a flexible process, and you can decide to continue for as long as you find it helpful.
